LEICESTER INTERNATIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL
in partnership with LEICESTERSHIRE BUSINESS VOICE and
NEW WALK MUSEUM & ART GALLERY invite you to be excited by
an evening of chamber jaz z.
Eclectica comprises some of the UK’s leading classical and jazz artists. Cellist Bernard Gregor-Smith will be well-known to LIMF audiences from his 40 years with the Lindsay String Quartet, whilst the multi-talented Lizzie Ball (violin and vocals) plays jazz and performs with the Britten Sinfonia. They are joined in Eclectica by the immensely gifted guitarists Pete Oxley and Nick Meier for performances that move seamlessly from classical and folk to jazz and Latin – the changing tempos and moods creating a unique and fascinating musical experience.
Since their formation in 2007, Eclectica have performed at Ronnie Scott’s, the Dartington International Arts Series, the Oxford Jazz Festival, the Buxton International Opera Festival, and live on BBC Radio 3 (In Tune), to name but a few! Their début album Eclectica! was recorded live at Ronnie Scott’s: Lizzie’s sensually persuasive delivery of Joni Mitchell’s River, Jobim’s Girl from Ipanema and Chick Corea’s Spain are just three of the tracks.
Concessionary Tickets are for Friends of the International Music Festival and Leicester Jazz House
